Cyclone Warning for North Coastal Andhra Pradesh,
Odisha, and West Bengal

Location: North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and West Bengal.
Event: Cyclone Fani, currently over the Bay of Bengal, is predicted to intensify further and cross the Odisha coast between Gopalpur and Chandbali on May 3. Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is expected in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and West Bengal May 2-4. Rainfall will be accompanied by rough sea conditions and high winds, with gusts up to 210 kilometers per hour. A storm surge will likely flood low-lying areas of Odisha at the time of landfall. Potential threats include damaged structures and falling objects; electricity, communication systems, and roadways may be disrupted.

- Seek secure shelter.
- Be prepared to shelter in place until conditions improve.
