Cyclone Gaja in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry

Location: Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, India
Event: Cyclone Gaja is predicted to cross the Tamil Nadu coast between Pamban and Cuddalore November 15. High winds are expected along and off the coasts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, with gusts up to 100 kmph. A storm surge of approximately one meter is forecast to inundate low lying areas of the Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, and Ramanathapuram districts of Tamil Nadu and the Karaikal district of Puducherry at the time of the cyclone’s landfall.
