Travel Alert for U.S. Citizens: Violence and Unrest in Manipur

Location: Manipur, Northeastern States, India  

Event: U.S. citizens in the state of Manipur, India should exercise caution due to inter community protests and violence.  In some areas, the government has imposed indefinite curfews and has issued a “Shoot at Sight” order in extreme cases of disorder.  Internet communication has been disabled in some areas.  Transport may be affected in various parts of the region.  Check with your airline if flying into or out of Imphal for the latest updates.
