CHENNAI: The Center for Asia Studies, Chennai in association with the U.S. Consulate General Chennai and supported by the Exchange Visitors Alumni Association of South India (EVAA) will host a one-day conference on “Security Imperatives in a Changing Global Order: Recent Developments in the Middle East and West Asia” at the GRT Convention Center, T. Nagar, Chennai.
The conference will address regional security concerns in the Middle East, and examine long-term solutions, other than just military interventions which provide only temporary respite. It will debate the role of countries like India and the United States and proactive measures to ensure peace and stability in the region through appropriate methods.
Security experts and academics from different regions of India will discuss related issues and suggest options and strategies for restoring balance and stability in the region. Panelists will include Ambassador Ranjit Gupta, Dr. Robert Lloyd, Professor A.K. Pasha, Dr. K. Chatterjee, Ambassador Ganapathi, Prof. Sridhar Krishnaswami, Dr. Sujatha Ashwarya and Dr. Kumaraswamy.
