Public Affairs Section

Public diplomacy promotes mutual understanding between countries, and communicates U.S. foreign policy priorities.  It supports people-to-people ties, and strengthening relationships that advance our shared interests and values.

The Public Affairs Section of the North India Office is responsible for engaging with the people, press, organizations, and institutions of the North India region.  It does so through community outreach, cultural programs and exchanges, grant partnerships, and discussions that articulate U.S. foreign policy and promote greater mutual understanding between India and the United States.

Political and Economic Section

The Political and Economic Section monitorsand analyzes political and economic developments within the states and territories of North India.

This section maintains official contact with state and local governments, political parties, civil society groups, and businesses.  It promotes mutually-beneficial government and business ties that strengthen the overall U.S.-India relationship and improve the welfare of our citizens.The section also supports the visits of high-level U.S. government officials.
