BENGALURU: On February 16, U.S. Consul General Phillip Min and Principal Commercial Officer John Fleming inaugurated new office space in central Bengaluru for the United States Commercial Service (USCS). USCS will continue to foster strong business ties between the United States and South India from its new location in the JW Marriott at Vittal Mallya Road.
“Today trade between the U.S. and India is nearly $100 billion a year, a record high. Bengaluru, the United States’ largest trading partner and host to 300 U.S. companies, is a large part of that success,” remarked Consul General Min. “The U.S. Consulate General in Chennai is committed to working with business communities in Karnataka and across South India to help unleash the full potential of the U.S.-India trade partnership.”

The USCS Bengaluru office will continue to promote export opportunities throughout Karnataka to U.S. firms from its new location. The office will also counsel U.S. companies interested in the South Indian market and provide them with matchmaking services, customized promotional events and market research. Matchmaking success stories include a New Hampshire based manufacturer of custom wire, cable, and medical grade tubing products that recently signed a local representative in Bengaluru. USCS’s Bengaluru office showcases the United States as a viable destination for investment from South India.
Principal Commercial Officer John Fleming commented, “An essential part of the work we do involves partnering with the local business chambers. Here in Bengaluru, we have great working relationships with the local chapters of AMCHAM, Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, Bangalore Chamber of Commerce and CII. We value these strategic partnerships and are grateful for the excellent support and coordination they offer in helping us expand trade and investment relations between the United States and India.”
Established in 1993, the USCS offices in Bengaluru cover the state of Karnataka. In addition to offices in Chennai and Bengaluru, USCS also hosts American Business Corners in Mangaluru, Madurai, Coimbatore, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kochi.
