EducationUSA’s Pre-departure Orientation for students admitted to U.S. universities for academic year 2015-16

EducationUSA Center at the United States – India Educational Foundation invites students joining U.S. universities in the academic year 2015-16 to a pre-departure orientation on Friday July 10, 2015, 9.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Chennai.

The event will have interactive sessions on a range of topics covering travel planning, F1 visa rules as an international student in the U.S., adjusting to social and cultural life, and academic environment in the U.S. The speakers will include representatives from  U.S. Consulate, Chennai, academics from U.S. universities and also alumni of U.S. universities.

The pre-departure orientation is designed to ease the entry of Indian students into American culture and enable them to make the most of their student life in the United States. Participation in the orientation will prepare the Indian students for the academic rigour, to cope with the cultural adjustments and to manage an independent life style in the United States. This will also provide them an opportunity to meet other students travelling to various universities in the U.S. and create a network of contacts.
