EducationUSA’s Pre-Departure Orientation for students admitted to U.S. universities for academic year 2014-15

EducationUSA Center at the United States – India Educational Foundation (USIEF) invites students admitted to U.S. universities for the 2014-15  academic year to participate in a pre-departure orientation Thursday June 26, 2014, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hotel Savera, Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai, Mylapore, Chennai 600 004.

The event will include interactive sessions on topics including travel planning, adjusting to life in the U.S., F-1 visa rules as an international student in the U.S., and social and academic culture in the U.S. The speakers will include Vice Consul from the U.S. Consulate, Chennai, representatives from U.S. universities and also current U.S. university students and alumni of U.S. universities who have made a similar journeys as Indian students to the U.S.

The pre-departure orientation is designed to ease the entry of Indian students into American culture and enable them to make the most of their student life in the U.S. Participation in the orientation will prepare Indian students for academic rigor,  coping with cultural adjustments and managing an independent life style in the U.S. This orientation will also provide them the opportunity to meet other students travelling to various U.S. universities and create a network of contacts.
