Dosti House – Your American Space is the place in Mumbai to learn about American society and to engage on issues of importance to both the United States and India. Dosti House boasts a reference and research library with a large collection of print, digital and online resources where you can explore American culture, society, economics, and politics, practice English and learn about study in the United States. You will also find a large meeting space for group events or smaller spaces to study and read. Located at the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai, Dosti House is free and open to the general public.
Dosti House is committed to providing timely, reliable and comparative information on a variety of topics ranging from American politics, culture, history, economy as well as international relations and global issues.With a wide variety of books, journals, DVDs, English language learning materials and information on studying in the U.S., there is something for everyone.
Become a Member
Anyone can use Dosti House for free. For a yearly fee of Rs. 400/- and Rs. 700/- for two years, however, members enjoy expanded benefits such borrowing privileges, streamlined access and invitations to Dosti House events on topics such as EducationUSA, book clubs, panel discussions, and film screenings. Membership is open to anyone 16 years of age or older. Applicant can apply at Dosti House by presenting a valid photo identification and proof of current residence. Click here for more details.

Access to Dosti House – Your American Space is quick and easy
Visitors can come in without prior appointment. You must provide an original valid photo-identification (ID) at the entrance to the U.S. Consulate General.
Important Electronic Device Policy: Visitors to Dosti House are welcome to bring their mobile phones, but Bluetooth Technology must be disabled. Personal Laptops and tablets, Cameras, Memory Storage Devices and other Electronic/Electrical Devices are prohibited. Click here for more details.

Film Screenings
Dosti House – Your American Space, Mumbai invites you and your friends to a Free Film Screening at 2:00 p.m. on alternate Saturdays.
Note: Mobile phones and laptops are permitted, but Bluetooth technology must be disabled. Cameras, memory storage devices, and other electronic equipment are not allowed. Photography and video recording in and around the consulate compound is strictly prohibited.
