Chennai, May 8: The U.S. Commercial Service will bring 19 U.S. companies to South India May 9-13 as part of Trade Winds, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s largest annual trade mission program. The Trade Winds program includes an Indo-Pacific focused business forum in New Delhi with regional and industry specific conference sessions and consultations with U.S. diplomats representing commercial markets throughout the region. The overall delegation to India consists of more than 100 U.S. companies.
In South India, Trade Winds has organized three mission stops in Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. At each mission stop, attending companies will learn about the business environment, explore opportunities, and conduct business-to-business meetings with potential partners.
Manoj Desai, the Principal Commercial Officer in South India, said, “South India plays an important and growing role in our bilateral commercial relationship, especially in the areas of defense, information technology, space, education, energy, environment, and healthcare.”
