Greater Hyderabad Municipal Election Awareness

Location: Hyderabad
Event: The city of Hyderabad is holding municipal elections on December 01, 2020 with results expected on/about December 04, 2020. Large gatherings, road closures, and unrest may occur spontaneously throughout the week, including next weekend. Expect a considerable rise in local police presence, street noise, traffic, and congestion.
Actions to Take:
- Avoid government offices, schools, and colleges in residential areas as they might have been identified as polling stations. The area around each polling station is considered a prohibited zone for the non-voting public. Expect increased security at polling stations.
- Expect some congestion and even road closures, along with the possibility of vehicle checkpoints and searches conducted by local police.
ï Practice personal security awareness.
- Monitor local media for updates.
- Follow the instructions of local authorities.
ï Stay alert in locations frequented by tourists.
